Personal information
ACMC does not collect personal information about you if you simply access its website or buy a single ticket for a concert.
ACMC does collect personal information about you if you take out a subscription or ask to be put on our list of non-subscribers who have asked to be kept informed of concerts and concert programs.
As a small not-for-profit organisation ACMC does not have to be registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Even so it does have to comply with the Data Protection Act, with the associated regulations, and with accepted data protection principles and standards. Nothing in this Privacy Policy detracts from ACMC’s obligation so to comply.
This policy sets out details of the personal information which we do or may collect, and the ways in which we may use that information.
What information we collect
We collect only the personal information which you choose to give us. As a minimum that will include a name and a postal address and information about any subscription that you have taken out. Commonly it will also include a telephone number and an e-mail address.
How we use personal information
We use name and address personal information for the following purposes:
- If you are a subscriber, for sending you notification of ACMC’s Annual General Meeting and the papers to be considered at that meeting
- If you have been a subscriber one season, for sending you before the start of the next season information about the concerts planned for the new season and the availability of subscriptions and single tickets
- If you have given us an email address, for sending you (whether or not you are or have been a subscriber) reminders or supplementary information about our forthcoming concerts and about other local musical events which we think may be of interest to our audience
We will not use name and address information for purposes of any mailing (postal or electronic) which does not relate to the activities of ACMC other local musical events which we think may be of interest to our audience.
We will not pass any personal information which we hold to unconnected third parties.
Updating and amending your personal information
ACMC is expected, like any other data controller, to keep the data which it holds up-to-date.
ACMC will ensure that the data held in regard to Members accurately reflects the data provided by them at the time of their most recent subscription renewal and any later change which has come to ACMC’s notice.
ACMC is also expected, like any other data controller, not to hold the data which it has longer than it needs to.
ACMC will not keep data held in regard to Members for periods further back than the subscription year before the current one, but may keep for up to 10 years lists of the names of past members and details of any service by them on the committee.
Emails sent by ACMC giving reminders or supplementary information about forthcoming concerts will include links through which recipients can request the update of their preferences or their removal from the mailing list.
Third party websites
ACMC’s website offers links to other websites which it hopes may be of interest. Personal information which you give to ACMC cannot pass through to the operators of these other websites, but ACMC has no control over what may be done with any personal information that you may give when visiting other websites. Third-party ticketing websites may collect personal data, but this is not passed to ACMC. Such websites should have their own privacy policies which you may wish to check.
Changes to Privacy Policy
ACMC will keep its Privacy Policy under review and will promptly notify on its website any changes made. This text is the version approved by the Committee on 31 August 2022 and applicable since then.
Consent
By disclosing your personal information to us, you indicate your consent to the collection, storage, processing and use of your personal information by ACMC as laid out in this privacy policy.
